Abortion and the Church

February 9, 2016 By Rob White

“Humanizing” Fetuses – Really?

Of course a fetus is a human being – he or she is a living soul!

I can understand how those in the world seek to justify their actions, ease their pain, and try to soothe their seared conscience – but those in the Church?

The only difference between the ones reading this post and those “fetuses” in the womb is one thing, and one thing only – “TIME”!

Outside of nutrition & a positive and nurturing environment, mom doesn’t need to add anything else to the life that is conceived in the womb.  The only thing missing is the “TIME” necessary for the life in the womb to develop into a life that CAN survive outside of the mother’s womb!  I am sure that you are aware that after a “baby” is born, he/she continues to develop and mature physically outside of the womb.

What a glorious, miraculous process! (Psalms 139:14-16)

Now don’t be sanctimonious.  You know good and well that the majority of abortions in the United States of America are elective (over 80%), and have nothing to do with saving the mother’s or baby’s life, or have anything to do with rape or incest (see Abortion Facts).  Note:  in regards to the other 20% … is God not God? Can He not save? Does He not heal today? (More on this later).

“Pro Choice” you scream!  What about your choices before you sowed your seed? Or before you participated in getting pregnant? Is not the union of a man and a woman sacred?  Is not the marriage bed holy? (Hebrews 13:4) I am afraid that those in the Church have lost their way!  (2 Timothy 3:2)

Current statistics:

  • Over 80% of those having abortions are unmarried! (See Abortion Statistics)
  • 50% of those having abortions are younger than 25 years old
  • Women that obtain abortions represent every “religious” affiliation:
    • Protestant: 43%
    • Catholic: 27%
    • Born-again, Evangelicals: 13%

What is being taught in the pulpits of the American Church? In our homes? What do you say? What do you teach? Clearly, so called “Christians” are not doing it God’s way!

Maybe you are ignorant of what God says?  Don’t be ignorant anymore.

Consider what God says:

  • The glorious miracle of being able to produce a life is a God-given privilege, honor, and responsibility!  (Genesis 1:28)
  • The process of life is special to God as He knows who you are (Exodus 23:26; Jeremiah 1:5; Galatians 1:15)
  • He forms children in the womb (Isaiah 44:2)
  • Children are God’s inheritance (Psalms 127:3; Ezekiel 16:20,21)
  • God refers to the unborn baby as an actual “life”(Exodus 21:22-25)
  • God is against murder (Exodus 20:13; Galatians 5:21)

If you call yourself a “Christian” you are morally obligated to do it God’s way, to teach it God’s way and to live it God’s way.  You can’t claim to be Christians – those that follow Christ – and do it your own way!  Why would you call yourselves Christians? (Luke 6:46)

Will you, can you hear God’s word? Or are you self-justified?  Is your conscience seared?

Here’s the test …. Do these words anger you or provoke you to good works?  If they anger you, more than likely you are not right with God and need to repent!

God chastens those whom He loves (Revelation 3:20) – and those that are called by God say the same things as God! (John 7:16-18)

Wake up Church! Repent!  Should you that call yourselves “Christians” exalt yourself above the laws and nature of God? Don’t you know that you are called to be like Him? (1 Peter 1:15-16) You that are high-minded shall be brought low.  God will hold everyone accountable for their actions (Revelation 20:12).  You will wear your shame forever unless you repent!

Repentance, mercy and forgiveness are wonderful gifts – and they are available NOW! Don’t delay!  God’s forgiveness is there for you to experience.  If you confess your sin, He is faithful and just to forgive you of it! (1 John 1:9)

Humility, Sin, Forgiveness & Consecration

January 5, 2016 By Rob White

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” ~ 2 Chronicles 7:14

There is only one thing that withholds God’s blessing from His people – it is sin. So, if you call upon the name of the Lord and are numbered with the Church of Jesus Christ, then the call to repentance is clear.

God has made it so simple:

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ~ 1 John 1:9

If you have repented, then stay consecrated!

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. ~ 2 Corinthians 6:17-1

Are you willing to follow God and walk in His ways?

Determine to know Him. Seek His face, for He rewards them who diligently seek Him!

2 Chronicles, chapter 15 gives us a solid Biblical reference to what this all looks like.

Seek the Lord and be blessed!

The Wrath of God Abides Upon All Sin

August 25, 2015 By Rob White

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. (Romans 1:18; Romans 1:16-32)

Satan is the enemy of God. Satan’s ways are contrary to the ways of God.  If you are His, or a Christian, then sin is your enemy too – and the ways of sin are contrary to your ways as well!

If this is not your experience, then you need to examine yourself, repent and get right with God!  He has made it so simple. (1 John 1:9)

Listen people … God hates sin so much that He provided for himself a lamb, a perfect, unblemished sacrifice – His only  begotten Son. Jesus bore in His own body our sins on the cross – there dying, suffering a hideous death, and paying the just penalty of sin for us! (Romans 6:23)

He has condemned sin in the flesh (Romans 8:3) and now commands all men every where to repent. (Acts 17:30)

Jesus, in preaching in Luke 13 said, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” He said this twice in that passage!

If you have called upon the Lord and are saved from your sins, you have experienced the new birth – old things have passed a way, and behold all things are new!  What a glorious event!

You are to continue on in God by keeping His word (John 8:30-32)

You now are to grow in grace (2 Peter 3:1-18)

Titus 2:11-15 says “For the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”

God did not save you from sin to permit you to go on in the ways of sin!  Don’t be foolish!  Can you hear the gentle rebuke of your Savior, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46)

Remember what the Lord said in Matthew 7:13-27, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

John, the beloved of the Lord writes, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” 1 John 2:1-6

Don’t hold the truth in unrighteousness!  Never justify sin in your life. The wrath of God abides upon all sin.

Glorify God!  Be thankful! Continue on to know the Lord in the humility of the new birth!

He loves you!  He will perfect those things that concern you! (Psalm 138:8)

The Wages of Sin is Death

August 24, 2015 By Rob White

Many people are not reading their Bibles!

Romans 6:23 states “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Many in the Church today when reading this scripture focus on the gift of God – Jesus Christ!  And God’s gift to us is wonderful!  Oh how glorious it is to have your sins washed away by the blood of Jesus!  Old things are passed away – all things have become new!  (2 Corinthians 5:17) Truly this is an unspeakable gift!  Worthy is the Lamb – unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to HIM be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen! (Revelation 1:4-6)

Forgive me –  it is easy to get distracted when speaking His wonderful name!

Back to the issue … the wages of sin is death!  When one gets born again (John 3:3), not only are they forgiven of their sins, they are loosed from the power of it so that they don’t have to obey sin any more (Romans 6:12-14).

Further more, 1 John 3:5-10 states, “And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.  Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.”

Sinners will sin more or less every day – it is what they do!  Saints, however, are not to practice or continue in sin at all. (Romans 6:1-3, 2 Timothy 2:19)

Remember what Jesus said to the impotent man at the pool of Bethesda after healing him (John 5), “Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.”

So what is sin to the person who is born again?  Sin is death!  It always has been and always will be! It is the same for every man or woman, boy or girl – for both the sinner and the Christian – God is no respect of persons! (Read Ezekiel 18).

  • Sin is to be confessed to God – Psalm 32:5, Proverbs 28:13, 1 John 1:9
  • Sin is to be repented of – Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19, Acts 17:30, John 8, Revelation 3, Revelation 4
  • Sin and ungodliness is to be departed from and denied – 2 Timothy 2:19, Titus 2:11-13
  • Sin is to be resisted – James 4:7

The wages of sin is death.  Adam was righteous, but in the day that he sinned – he died. (Genesis 3)

Ananias & Sapphira sinned and they died. (Acts 5)

Repentance for dead works (sin) is a foundational doctrine of the Church (Hebrews 6:1)

Paul rebuked the Church in Corinth for allowing one that called himself a brother living in fornication to fellowship in the Church ( 1 Corinthians 5).

Know the word of God, and get a made up mind!  David said, “Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee” Psalm 119:11.  How much more are we now empowered to walk with God having received the Holy Spirit that leads us and guides us into all truth.  The Holy Spirit will never led us into sin!

Galatians 5:19-24 states “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”

Yes, the God who loves, hates sin and iniquity.  (Read Proverbs 6:16-19) He stands in the midst of His church and commands those in sin to repent. (Revelation 3, Revelation 4)

Remember what Paul said in Romans 8:18, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Be diligent in prayer – and pray that you enter not into temptation (Luke 22:40-46)

Remember 1 Corinthians 10:13, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

Jesus is a faithful high priest – Hebrews 2:17-18

Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.  Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren. (James 1:12-16)

Be penitent before God … if you sin, confess it to God (1 John 1:9). He will wash the sin away. And then repent of it – turn away from the sin you committed and don’t do it again! Sin is never justified – God hates it and will never justify it.  He demands repentance.
