For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. (Romans 1:18; Romans 1:16-32)
Satan is the enemy of God. Satan’s ways are contrary to the ways of God. If you are His, or a Christian, then sin is your enemy too – and the ways of sin are contrary to your ways as well!
If this is not your experience, then you need to examine yourself, repent and get right with God! He has made it so simple. (1 John 1:9)
Listen people … God hates sin so much that He provided for himself a lamb, a perfect, unblemished sacrifice – His only begotten Son. Jesus bore in His own body our sins on the cross – there dying, suffering a hideous death, and paying the just penalty of sin for us! (Romans 6:23)
He has condemned sin in the flesh (Romans 8:3) and now commands all men every where to repent. (Acts 17:30)
Jesus, in preaching in Luke 13 said, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” He said this twice in that passage!
If you have called upon the Lord and are saved from your sins, you have experienced the new birth – old things have passed a way, and behold all things are new! What a glorious event!
You are to continue on in God by keeping His word (John 8:30-32)
You now are to grow in grace (2 Peter 3:1-18)
Titus 2:11-15 says “For the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”
God did not save you from sin to permit you to go on in the ways of sin! Don’t be foolish! Can you hear the gentle rebuke of your Savior, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46)
Remember what the Lord said in Matthew 7:13-27, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”
John, the beloved of the Lord writes, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” 1 John 2:1-6
Don’t hold the truth in unrighteousness! Never justify sin in your life. The wrath of God abides upon all sin.
Glorify God! Be thankful! Continue on to know the Lord in the humility of the new birth!
He loves you! He will perfect those things that concern you! (Psalm 138:8)
